"I had always been able to pick up instruments on my own, but drums were a different story. The multi-hand and feet coordination just didn't click for me. I thought I wouldn't be able to learn, but Luke made it all possible. I wouldn't be able to play drums if it weren't for him. His personally developed process and patient teaching style helped me go from struggling with basic beats to jamming, recording, and even gigging. Thank you Luke!!!"

“I am a mother of 3 who lived in Hawaii and was fortunate enough to meet Luke! I had been searching for drum lessons on island that were suitable for my 7 year old son, Anthony, and eventually my 2 and a half year old daughter, Sophia, who took interest after seeing Anthony having a blast. Anthony and Sophia had many years of rocking out with Luke. As for me, seeing my kids after every lesson so happy and full of music in their heads, I couldn’t ask for a better experience myself. Luke, thank you!!!”

“I took drum lessons from Luke, and the skills I learned from his lessons helped me to be a part of lots of different bands, and I use a lot of what I learned to produce music.”

“Luke is an awesome drum instructor. Takes his time to really go into detail of the lesson plan. Breaks things down so that I can really understand what I need to learn. I feel excited to go to class through out the week anticipating the day I go there. Also I love his set up with 2 acoustic drum sets side by side to see the examples he is giving with the lessons. Mahalo nui loa. Aloha ekahi.”

“I took my first drum lessons with Luke after years of casually playing along to music I grew up with. One lesson is all it took to realize a couple of things.
First, Luke is an amazing teacher. There are two drum kits set up in his studio where he can listen to what his student is playing, and then do some coaching and demonstrate if necessary. He is patient, is able to diagnose very easily what needs to be taught or corrected, and is very knowledgeable and positive in how he supports student growth.
Second, learning proper technique and foundational skills is so important to really enjoying what you are passionate about. Being “self taught” or trying to learn from YouTube videos is cool, but Luke is a very technically capable drummer and his ability to break down technique is off the chart amazing. He is another set of eyes that can give immediate feedback and can answer questions in a way that brings results and creates a very positive learning environment.
I am so happy I am taking drum lessons — even this late in life at the age of 56. I honestly didn’t know what to expect but an hour flew by and by the end of the lesson I was confident not only in the rudiments I was learning (it was like deconstructing a lifetime of bad habits and creating a solid foundation to build on later) but in what my next steps were. I now have a very good idea of how these techniques will open up the drum kit with grooves and fills. I am so excited for what is to come as far as how I develop now as a musician.”
